Exclusive Negro Delgado de Arbol Beans are a product of the Rancho Gordo-XOXOC Project. These rare beans are grown using centuries-old methods and are part of a cooperative focused on supporting small farmers grow indigenous, heirloom beans.

Frustrated consumers have started some of the world’s best businesses. Take Steve Sando, an avid home cook, who years ago was so exasperated by the lack of good quality dried beans in markets, he decided to start Rancho Gordo and sell them himself. He now sources his beans from mostly North California growers, with a few imports from South America. And with a selection of flavorful heirloom beans like Tepary, Rio Zape and Borlotti, Sando has managed to gain a cult following.
